What Is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the systematic use of essential oils in holistic
treatments to improve physical well being. Essential Oils, extracted
from plants, possess distinctive therapeutic properties, which can be
utilized to improve health and prevent disease. Both their physiological
and psychological effects combine well to promote positive health. These
natural plant oils are applied in a variety of ways, including massage,
baths, and inhalations. These are ready absorbed through the skin and
have gentle physiological effects. Aromatherapy is an especially
effective treatment for stress-related problems and a variety of chronic
conditions.

What are Essential Oils?
An
essential oil is an aromatic, volatile substance extracted from a single
botanical source by distillation or expression. Essential oils have been
utilized in fragrances, flavors and medicines for thousands of years.
There are some 400
essential oils extracted from plants all over the world. Some of the
popular oils used in aromatherapy today include chamomile, lavender,
rosemary, and tea tree.

What happens during a session?
First we
sit down and discuss the reason for your visit and decide whether to
approach your treatment from a physical, emotional or spiritual aspect
(or a combination thereof). You will be asked to fill out a client
intake form as a record of current health conditions. This is
vital information in order to avoid any essential oils that may effect
or aggravate your current condition. This form is kept on file and
is strictly confidential. In future visits, be sure to let us know
of any changes in this information so that your file can remain
up-to-date. The client intake form is available in .pdf Adobe Reader
format
here or in word .doc format
here.
Rates:
The initial aromatherapy session is $45, and includes
consultation to determine which oils will be needed, and one treatment.
Follow-up sessions for same treatment begin at $25, depending on
the type and length of session. Your treatment will not be massage in
nature, as I am not a LMT. However, essential oils and blends are made
available for purchase, if you prefer to continue your treatments at
home or for use by your normal massage therapist.

My partner, Roi Hamilton and I offer our own line of essential
oils through our company THE GREEN
PERGOLA. They are 100% pure and undiluted at a very competitive price.
Being aromatherapists, we want to educate others about
bringing essential oils into their everyday lives for their health
and happiness. Part of wanting to share more about pure
essential oils is the pleasure of being able to offer our essential
oils at prices that are affordable. |
